Wine Trails and Vineyard Tours

The Keuka Lake Wine Trail and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail are easy to explore. Country roads are well marked with directions, and many of the wineries have tours and restaurants. Click on Wineries for the names of the wineries, their location, and a map of the trails.

Boat Cruises

Take a cruise on the Esperanza Rose or the Viking Spirit. The Esperanza Rose is an elegant 65 foot vintage cruising vessel that offers upscale dinner and lunch cruises, sightseeing excursions, wedding rehearsal dinners, small weddings and family and corporate events The Viking Spirit also cruises Keuka Lake from its dock on the East side of the Lake..

Renting a boat, a kayak or a canoe is easy at any one of our many marinas dotting the lake. Check out Basin Park Marina (Branchport), Morgan Marine (Penn Yan), North End Marina (Branchport) and Harbor House Marina (315-595-2215).

Auctions! Auctions! Auctions!

Come and enjoy our wonderful auctions. The Hayes Auction Barn, on Rt. 14 just North of Penn Yan holds a general and estate auction every Satruday night.  Many surprises, and frequent treasures await.  A wonderful, authentic "Heart of the Finger Lakes" country experience!

 

The Yates County Produce Auction on Rt. 14, just North of the Windmill holds auctions every Mon./We./Friday at 9:00 am as well as a number of special auctions throughout the summmer......Farm Fresh Produce, Nursery Stock, Farm Machinery, Building Materials...   Come early and watch the buggies and tractors bring in all of the stock. Every June the Amish and Mennonite Community hosts the magnificent Haiti Benefit Auction at the Yates County Fairgrounds in Penn Yan. Quilts galore.....magnificent hand crafted furniture, farm equipment and more.100% of the proceeds go to Haiti Relief. Call 315-536-8581 for schedule and information.

Festivals of Art and Music

From arts festivals to fishing contests and from jazz festivals to antique shows, there is always something going on in the "Heart of the Finger Lakes".

During the last three years, the wineries have introduced a series of highly successful winter events that are now drawing visitors from all over the world.  

The Keuka Arts Festival, takes place every June on the Keuka Outlet at Penn Yan, and celebrates its third successful year in 2010.

The annual Yates Country Fair at Penn Yan is a classic, and takes place every July.

Museums

Depending on your interest, there are museums and chapels devoted to sixth century architecture, local history, agriculture and aviation. These include the Garrett Chapel , The Oliver House Museum, the Dundee Historical Society Museum, the Middlesex Heritage Group, the L. Caroline Underwood Museum, the Robert Ingersoll Museum, the Agricultural Memories Museum, and the Glenn Curtiss Museum

Racetracks and Golfing

The Black Rock Speedway is home to exciting stock car, dirt tracking racing and the Watkins Glen International Raceway is nearby.
